Was ist das forum1.5?
Das forum1.5 versteht sich als Plattform für all diejenigen in der Region, die den Wandel zur Nachhaltigkeit vor Ort gestalten wollen. 
Das Ziel des Pariser Klimaabkommens, die Erderwärmung auf 1,5 Grad zu begrenzen, ist namensgebend. Das forum1.5 will dazu beitragen, die für dieses Ziel notwendigen tiefgreifenden Veränderungsprozesse anzustoßen, damit der Klimawandel entschleunigt wird und Klimaschutzmaßnahmen greifen. Sein Anspruch geht jedoch deutlich über die Treibhausgasreduktion hinaus. Er umfasst auch die 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele (SDGs) der Vereinten Nationen für eine sozial-gerechte und solidarische Transformation, die in der Agenda 2030 auch für Regionen und Kommunen festgeschrieben sind.
Was ist das Besondere am forum1.5?
Das Besondere am forum1.5 ist die transdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit interessierter Menschen nicht nur aus Kommunen, Wirtschaft und Zivilgesellschaft, sondern insbesondere auch aus der Wissenschaft, die auf der neutralen Plattform des forum1.5 zusammenfinden und sich zu einem regionalen Netzwerk verbinden. Insbesondere die Mitwirkung der Wissenschaft bei der Lösung der lokalen Problemstellungen ist ein Merkmal des forum1.5, ebenso wie der enge Austausch mit Akteur:innen aus der Praxis und sogenannten Pionier:innen der Zukunft. In dieser übergreifenden Kooperation entsteht ein besonders wirksamer Beitrag zur Transformation.
Wie wird regionale Transformation erreicht? 
Mehrere regionale „fora 1.5“ sind aktuell in der Gründung. Das forum1.5 Mittelfranken ist die Kooperationsplattform für diese Region. Es bringt die Akteure aus den Kommunen, der Wirtschaft, der Wissenschaft und der Zivilgesellschaft zusammen und lädt sie zur Mitwirkung ein. Ziel des ist es, daran mitzuwirken, dass sich die Region der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung für Klimaschutz und Nachhaltigkeitsziele stellt, bewusst die Transformationsprozesse vor Ort und in der Region gestaltet und andere Regionen zur Nachahmung inspiriert. Die FAU ist als zentraler Kooperationspartner am Aufbau des forum 1.5 Mittelfranken beteiligt.
Was ist aktuell geplant?
Im Mittelpunkt des forum1.5 stehen die halbjährlichen Veranstaltungen, die jeweils im Frühjahr und im Herbst stattfinden. Rund um ein Schwerpunktthema werden Erfahrungen ausgetauscht, Wissen weitergegeben, gemeinsam neue Ideen und Strategien entworfen sowie konkrete Projekte angestoßen und so der Weg in eine nachhaltige Zukunft in der Region Mittelfranken wirksam gestaltet. Das diesjährige Herbstforum findet vom 20. bis zum 30. Oktober 2022 als Online- und Präsenzveranstaltung mit dem Schwerpunkt “Aufgetischt! Impulstage zu nachhaltiger Ernährung“ statt. Für das Frühjahrsforum 2023 sind Veranstaltungen rund um das Thema Biodiversität geplant.

What is forum 1.5?
forum1.5 is a platform for all those in the region who want to promote local sustainability. 
It follows the intention of the The Paris Climate Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. forum1.5 aims to help initiate the far-reaching change processes necessary for decelerating climate changeand taking action to protect the climate. However, its goal stretches far beyond reducing greenhouse gases. It also includes the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations for socially just and solidarity-based transformation, which are also set out in the 2030 Agenda for Regions and Municipalities.
What is special about forum1.5?
forum1.5 is a transdisciplinary cooperation of interested parties from local authorities, business,society, and particularly from science, who connect on the independent platform forum 1.5 to form a regional network. One particular feature of forum 1.5 is that researchers work together to solve regional problems and the platform promotes dialog between stakeholders in different practical fields and pioneers of the future. The platform is able to make an effective contribution to transformation through this intensive collaboration.
How will regional transformation be achieved? 
Several regional fora 1.5 are currently being established. forum 1.5 Mittelfranken is the collaboration platform for this region. It brings together stakeholders from local authorities, business, scienceand society and invites them to work together on matters of regional significance. The platform contributes to regional responsibility for climate protection and sustainability goals, to consciously shape the transformation processes at locations in the region and to inspire other regions to follow their lead. As a key partner, FAU is involved in the development of forum 1.5 Mittelfranken.
What is currently planned?
forum 1.5 focuses on the semiannual events that take place in spring and fall each year. Experiences are exchanged around a key topic, knowledge is passed on, new ideas and strategies are developed together and concrete projects are initiated, thus effectively shaping the path to a sustainable future in the Middle Franconia region. This year’s Fall Forum will take place from October 20-30, 2022 as an online and face-to-face event with the focus on “On the table: Impulse days for sustainable nutrition”. Events on the topic of biodiversity are planned for the Spring Forum 2023.
